Some #SteveKimock fans are upset that he’s out on somebody else’s #Beatles tribute tour.

I happen to know that he’s having a lot of fun. He’s always loved George Harrison’s playing and I’m sure he jumped at the chance to play those parts.

This is the first recording I’ve seen of the tour. Some nice innovative takes of the classic tunes here and some ripping stuff from Steve.

As promised here’s the YouTube of #SteveKimock with his first original band “Open.” Moravian College, May 1974. With the help of family and friends we were able to find a scant few ancient photos. Some genuine fire from Steve throughout, who makes his entrance about 8 minutes in.

This was the first I saw him. Within a few weeks he became my teacher and a close friend.

As some of you might know, over the past year I've been posting clips of Open, #SteveKimock's first original band. They've generally been poor to medium quality from old cassettes of many generations.

I've always described the band as Yes meets Roy Buchanan.

I wondered if I still might have my reel to reel copy of the entire Moravian 74 show, which was a direct copy of the original recording.

#TBT A few days ago my wife did a deep reorg of a long neglected closet and buried among a bunch of CDs was a decent quality cassette of #SteveKimock's band Open. It's sill not fantastic due to the years and many generations, but reasonably listenable nonetheless.

Spring of 1974 at a residence hall at Moravian College. Steve on Guitar, Jim Steager on vocals and guitar, Mark Stevens on bass, and Mike Orley on drums.
