IrgndSonDepp
Castlevania: Circle of the Moon it is! 😎
Coming off of SotN, it seems like a very slight game. I've played for an hour and it looks like I've uncovered 20% of the map already.
Movement doesn't feel as good, although I'm not sure if it's a limitation of the original hardware or the GBA emulation. It's dropping inputs constantly, whenever I press more than two buttons at a time.
Yup, that means I'm having trouble with consistently jumping to a side and attacking in mid-air. 😅 It's even harder to use a subweapon (requires pressing up and attack at the same time) in mid-air.
But I'm having fun. It's more of the same, even if it feels a bit less refined. To be fair, the systems and mechanics are introduced properly and they meet and merge together much better as opposed to SotN. I'm not even sure why I think it's less refined. The fact that the movement feels off just really bothers me. 🤔
The two boss fights I've seen so far reminded me more of classic Castlevania, possibly due to being limited to the whip and not having a dodge, shield or any of Alucard's transformations. The two bosses seemed a bit simpler, with easier to read patterns, but that could just be the opening of the game.
I'm not complaining. I already died three times in one hour, where I might have made it all the way through the first castle in SotN without dying once. 😅
It's not super hard (yet), but it's also not completely without challenge. A good middle ground.
Let's see where this goes.

#ShareYourGames #Castlevania
