Jonathan EmmesediEvery Sunday I look back at the preceding week in kpop and pick out a music video or performance that I have particularly liked. This week I have chosen GFriend – Season of Memories.I was never in much doubt about this week’s choice, the only uncertainty being which iteration I should choose. I decided to feature the Inkigayo stage for two reasons. In the first place, I fell for the styling , even though I am not usually a fan of identical outfits. Secondly, that styling, reminiscent as it is of Japanese sailor suit school uniforms, complements the Jpop inspired sound of the song itself. GFriend have not only drawn on Japanese musical styles, but have also, with songs like “Memoria”, achieved some notable successes with Japanese releases. Jonathan EmmesediYuju's heel broke during this "Season of Memories" stage. I am not sure exactly when it happens, but at 3:05 her left shoe seems damaged.
