What makes this design so difficult is that it's on the ground, so it has to be flat; the material has to be sturdy enough to stand up to foot and wheeled traffic, but light enough to break with a crowbar if needed; and it has to be simple enough to open for utility workers to learn it and for civilians to be able to figure it out. This seems like a really worthy design project.
