@charlesmok no, it's just a sign of #incompetence re: #InfoSec, #OpSec, #ComSec & #ITsec as this is a criminally gross violation of standards that even #POTUS has to abide to.

  • There's a reason the #US #MILINTEL have half a dozen different "secure networks" for comms ranging from unclassified to top-secret+nofor!

#Trump should've been forced to hand over his personal devices at entry of the #SCIF this was sent from and only allowed on sanctioned and certified systems with vetted contacts only as pre-appointed who themselves are in a SCIF

Text from article(edited for length): Conceivably, Waltz, by coordinating a national-security-related action over Signal, may have violated several provisions of the Espionage Act, which governs the handling of “national defense” information, according to several national-security lawyers interviewed by my colleague Shane Harris for this story.... He did not show them the actual Signal messages or tell them specifically what had occurred. All of these lawyers said that a U.S. official should not establish a Signal thread in the first place. Information about an active operation would presumably fit the law’s definition of “national defense” information. The Signal app is not approved by the government for sharing classified information. The government has its own systems for that purpose. If officials want to discuss military activity, they should go into a specially designed space known as a sensitive compartmented information facility, or SCIF—most Cabinet-level national-security officials have one installed in their home—or communicate only on approved government equipment, the lawyers said. Normally, cellphones are not permitted inside a SCIF, which suggests that as these officials were sharing information about an active military operation, they could have been moving around in public. Had they lost their phones, or had they been stolen, the potential risk to national security would have been severe.

The claim that "other officials took #ClassifiedDocs" is simply not true.

Yes, other former presidents were found with documents "in their possession" after leaving office, but those items were taken by accident, packed by others along with personal belongings.

#DarthTraitor stole HUNDREDS of documents…many of them #SCIF level classified, which he refused to return when asked REPEATEDLY by the FBI, contending "THEY'RE MINE!" 🍼

In the Mar-a-Lago proceeding, Judge Aileen #Cannon ruled that defendant Trump must use a secure facility to review #classified #documents,
suggesting but not specifically declaring that it should not be housed at his private club and residence in Florida.

The dispute about how and where Mr. Trump could talk about the secret papers in the case began last month when his lawyers asked Judge Cannon to allow him to re-establish the sensitive compartmented information facility, or #SCIF, “at or near” Mar-a-Lago that he once used for classified materials when he was president.

“In essence,” one of the prosecutors, Jay I. Bratt, wrote, “he is asking to be the only defendant ever in a case involving classified information (at least to the government’s knowledge) who would be able to discuss classified information in a private residence.”
In her order, which came one day after a sealed hearing on these issues in Federal District Court in Fort Pierce, Fla., Judge Cannon granted the government’s motion for a protective order over the classified materials in full, not merely in part, suggesting she agreed with the request by prosecutors to keep Mr. Trump from re-opening his SCIF at Mar-a-Lago.

@Haste @amy I do recommend reading on #TEMPEST and #SCIF standards that aim to prevent these issues or at least mitigate them.

Sadly it's neither feasible nor a mass-market applicable option to go into windowless concrete bunkers.

Using password managers and playing added recordings at similar volume of other typings and varying when and where something's built that might also help.

yea, just a delaying tactic (that could, added up, get the Boss to win his case)

the #dojinvestigation is taking extra time pre this request, because they are making all the DOJ and Trump attorneys get top secret clearance and have to enter a SCIF and leave, including Trump. They have (will build) a #scif for this in the area.
