I finally was able to take a picture of the #roadrunner today on the way to work! This bird was moving fast! I didn't see any coyotes...

Bestial Human Road Runner
Hand drawn Ink art by William McAusland, writing by Colin Chapman
Long-legged and quick (move 12m per round), bestial human road runners are omnivores with a taste for bugs, lizards, snakes, and rodents, as well as vegetation. They have a sharp beak and talons (SV +7/ DMG 1d10), and react quickly to opportunity and danger (+1 initiative).
Humanoid road runners can fly clumsily with their wing-arms (10m per round), and while airborne can use their misshapen hands, to either employ a one handed weapon or drop a rock or grenade from each hand.

“Roadrunner” — A greater roadrunner, Death Valley National Park.
After more than two-and-a-half decades of visiting Death Valley National Park, you would think that I’d have see quite a few of these birds. But, no, this is the first time I have encountered a roadrunner in the park. Actually, there were two. I arrived at my campsite and was getting my gear out when a couple of them showed up to investigate my stuff…continues: https://gdanmitchell.com/2025/04/01/roadrunner/
Sooo... here's the second in a new series which I call, snappily, SONGS I WISH I'D WRITTEN (but did not because I'm not a good enough songwriter).
Saw a local friend while walking in the neighborhood. #WildBird #NewMexico #RoadRunner

Road Runner gets a lot of stick for being samey, but taken in moderation it has some of my favourite visual comedy, fun gags delivered with impeccable timing.
Beep Beep is the reference episode for me.

Greater Roadrunner Winter Profile by Debra Martz
One reason birds fluff up their feathers is to stay warm in the winter. This traps air between their body and feathers acting as insulation. The more trapped air, the warmer the bird.

Loco Dice and Carl Cox have unleashed an electrifying new collaboration, “Road Runner.” These techno heavyweights are no strangers to commanding dancefloors, but their latest track feels like a standout moment, fusing decades of experience into one explosive release.

In my backyard this morning I saw a #roadrunner that's been visiting regularly. He/she is totally unafraid. It stood on the short wall around my yard and stared at me with its head cocked as if asking, "Why are you in my yard?" I asked it to dispatch the gopher that's taken up residence in my yard. Too bad I didn't have a camera. It's very healthy looking and beautiful. I love critters.
In Why…I wanted to see this in a natural setting
Still pleasure to meet a Roadrunner
“Why” is a town near Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument
