Catherine Babault<p>River otter patrolling the coast in Baynes Sound last week. The photo is dark because it was at sunrise. There is a lot of river otters on Vancouver Island. I rarely see them in rivers, mostly on the coast.</p><p><a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/RiverOtter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RiverOtter</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/photography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>photography</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/wildlife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>wildlife</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/WildlifePhotography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WildlifePhotography</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/nature" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>nature</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/VancouverIslandWildlife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VancouverIslandWildlife</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/VancouverIsland" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VancouverIsland</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/BritishColumbia" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BritishColumbia</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/Canada" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Canada</span></a></p>
Catherine Babault<p>I photographed this river otter last year in March during the herring spawn. It was rubbing its back on a boulder. Probably had a belly full of herring. Looked very healthy and happy. </p><p><a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/RiverOtter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RiverOtter</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/HerringSpawn" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HerringSpawn</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/wildlife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>wildlife</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/photography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>photography</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/WildlifePhotography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WildlifePhotography</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/VancouverIslandWildlife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VancouverIslandWildlife</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/VancouverIsland" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VancouverIsland</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/BritishColumbia" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BritishColumbia</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/nature" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>nature</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/WildlifeWednesday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WildlifeWednesday</span></a></p>
Eishi Noguchi<p>Ridley Creek, PA</p><p>I recently learned that River Otters came back to this creek after 100 years of absence. They are nocturnal, so it is probably hard to see them if any, or maybe in winter, I might get to see some 🤔 </p><p><a href="https://masto.ai/tags/FlyFishing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FlyFishing</span></a> <a href="https://masto.ai/tags/Fishing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Fishing</span></a> <a href="https://masto.ai/tags/Nature" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Nature</span></a> <a href="https://masto.ai/tags/Hiking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Hiking</span></a> <a href="https://masto.ai/tags/Walking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Walking</span></a> <a href="https://masto.ai/tags/Creek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Creek</span></a> <a href="https://masto.ai/tags/Wildlife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Wildlife</span></a> <a href="https://masto.ai/tags/Photography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Photography</span></a> <a href="https://masto.ai/tags/RiverOtter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RiverOtter</span></a> <a href="https://masto.ai/tags/Otter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Otter</span></a></p>
