Brian Pierce<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@arstechnica" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>arstechnica</span></a></span> </p><p>We loved it on our test drive but were concerned about its low reliability rating with <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/consumerreports" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>consumerreports</span></a> . </p><p>As best we could tell, it's still apparently having ICCU and 12 volt failures, occasionally with long waits for parts, despite several recalls in the past few years.</p><p>Would have loved to get one but we went with a more reliable <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/toyota" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>toyota</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/RAV4" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RAV4</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/PHEV" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PHEV</span></a> for the next 3 years. </p><p>We didn't look at <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Tesla" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Tesla</span></a> because we're not fascists.😉</p>
