And I don't have a floppy drive in my current desktop or laptop.</p><p>Then I found older USB Flash drives. My lack of DVD-R disks was solved by abandoning the Ubuntu distro I was trying for, and exploring distros that would fit onto a CD.</p><p>I had a very old box of those around and managed, after several tries, to burn one – <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/PuppyLinux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PuppyLinux</span></a> – that would boot and install. Yay.</p>
