I can scarcely begin to express how absolutely *delighted* I am to read about the collective apoplexy triggered in these people by the sight of some flags.
What a ridiculous thing to be “outraged” about.
Better that they be outraged about the state of the NHS, crumbling concrete schools, child poverty… or even the diminished status of the UK on the world stage, in direct contradiction of the themes expressed in their beloved “Rule, Britannia!”
But such is the rabid xenophobia of the committed Brexiter.
Yes. Yes, they should.
No, they didn’t. No, he wasn’t. No, it didn’t. And no, it wasn’t. You’re welcome.
Still. Good to see so many EU flags. As usual.
These patriotic anthems sound more and more ironic each year. I mean, at this point, it’s just withering sarcasm, isn’t it?
@keefeglise it was a fascinating broadcast tonight - the first half was a dramatised account of the creation of the work, with actors voicing those involved and the orchestra illustrating their points.
And the second half was a powerful performance of the work. Very impressive, without the score to help them count!
Oh, by all that is wonderful, the #BBC #Proms have a night of #NorthernSoul - and here's the Listen Again link
