I don’t have a 3D scanner but I want to 3D scan something.

What’s the recommendation in the year two thousand and twenty five?

Photogrammetry with meshlab? Lidar scan with my phone?

I have a light box and a motorized turntable if that is useful.

Anyone east of Seattle have equipment they want to share?

#SundayWriting - waking up some old data in the process of writing a 'science rescue' story, aka the only place some ideas are ever likely to be published. This is from a voyage in 2012, partly written up in a doctoral thesis in 2016, for a project de-funded in 2013. It's 3 #lidar swaths, #photogrammetry and TLS data all aligned to tell stories.

...but wait - sea ice drifts, and... snow is white... and... over a decade ago? ...how?

Craignavar Deserted Township, Glen Almond

Comprising the stone ruins of at least 22 rectangular buildings and a corn-drying kiln with associated stone-walled enclosures and fields, Craignavar was deserted in around 1820. It's unknown whether it was part of the forced Highland Clearances or just a voluntary departure due to economic reasons.
