Angela Quinton<p>I was just laid off! If you are looking for a web dev with 20+ years of experience, most recently five years doing <a href="https://tacobelllabs.net/tags/Elixir" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Elixir</span></a> and <a href="https://tacobelllabs.net/tags/PhoenixLiveview" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PhoenixLiveview</span></a>, please hit me up! <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/angela-quinton/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">linkedin.com/in/angela-quinton</span><span class="invisible">/</span></a></p>
Willem Van den Ende - Writing<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mstdn.social/@marick" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>marick</span></a></span> not me, but thanks to your wikipedia link and <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.radio/@k9ox" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>k9ox</span></a></span> 's link to <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/elixir" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>elixir</span></a> / <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/erlang" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>erlang</span></a> behaviours, maybe several things are is starting to fall into place. <br>FYI I remember <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mstdn.social/@marcevers" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>marcevers</span></a></span> being keen on DCI, but it didn't speak to me at the time. I now see links with the kind of designs that flow from <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/EventStorming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>EventStorming</span></a> . And somehow behaviours in <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/elixir" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>elixir</span></a> make sense. I was programming a distributed system in <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/PhoenixLiveView" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PhoenixLiveView</span></a> without noticing (until the book pointed it out, that is :-) ) .</p>
Steve :opensuse: :kde:<p>Have been meaning to learn <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Elixir" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Elixir</span></a> and <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Phoenix" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Phoenix</span></a> for some years now, and have decided 2024 is the time. I’ve accrued a number of books and courses over the last few years, but am wondering if they’re relevant enough now.</p><p>Is Phoenix from, say, 3-4 years ago still the thing to learn first, or should I move now straight to <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/PhoenixLiveView" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PhoenixLiveView</span></a>? Recommendations for current learning resources would be welcome. I want to build just for fun (games, etc.) and have some experience with FP in <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/ElmLang" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ElmLang</span></a>.</p>
