AngelaI played a little bit of Phasmophobia this weekend with the online crew. That game has changed a lot since we first began playing it. I mainly like the changes, but I keep getting snagged on the things that are not the same as what I was used to from back when the game was newer.They have changed the equipment so that when you're starting out, you have really basic stuff. Like, instead of a nice EMF reader with easy-to-read lights, you have a dingy plastic box with a meter on it (the kind with a needle that bounces around, like an old VU meter on a stereo). This makes it a little trickier to know for certain that you got a 5 on your device.And instead of a digital temp gun, you have an old and kind of dirty-looking outdoor thermometer. And that means you have to put it somewhere and leave it there until that red line sloooooowwwwly creeps down to freezing. Or you have to stand there and hold it while it does that, which can be kind of scary.And you need it, because you can no longer rely on visuals like seeing your breath to guarantee that the temperatures are freezing. You must get a reading on the thermometer.One of the things about this that is cool is that I'm old enough that I remember when tech looked like these things. It's got a cool retro vibe. I really never thought stuff from the 70s would end up being cool later on.Anyway, I got up to Intern (maybe level 2 or 3?) which was okay for the length of time we played. It's not where I had been, but they had to reset the levels when they changed how the equipment worked. We were able to unlock parabolic mics by the end of the night, which will help the next time we play.<a href="https://toot.cat/tags/Phasmophobia" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Phasmophobia</a>
