#PeterDavid is a great #author! One of my favorites. 
He tends to name walk-on characters after people he knows in real life, to avoid having to create physical descriptions, etc. for brief characters. Some years ago, one of my friends was "Capt. Lee Tennant of the USS Chance."
Peter David has been going through some huge medical issues lately, and there is a #GoFundMe #fundraiser for him. His wife has been posting updates there for his condition.
