Derick Rethans<p>I failed to see any <a href="https://phpc.social/tags/Perseid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Perseid</span></a> last night with my eyes, but I had my camera on an interval for about an hour and a half, and it *did* capture one!</p><p>Nothing spectacular though. 🌠 </p><p><a href="https://phpc.social/tags/AstroPhotography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AstroPhotography</span></a> <a href="https://phpc.social/tags/GardenAstronomy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GardenAstronomy</span></a> <a href="https://phpc.social/tags/Photography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Photography</span></a> <a href="https://phpc.social/tags/ShootingStar" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ShootingStar</span></a></p>

melsaywhat<p>I'm looking for a professional photo of the Perseid Meteor Shower, preferably taken on Saturday, August 12 (2023) near La Grange KY or within a 50-100 mile radius. Willing to pay for a professional canvas print for my 10-year old second cousin. He just had a birthday party Saturday and if it weren't for him I never would have seen it. It was beautiful! <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/Perseid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Perseid</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/MeteorShower" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MeteorShower</span></a></p>
Stephen Shankland<p>Second update: Clouds cleared so I took some more photos. This one is definitely a Perseid meteor. Alas, right at the edge of the frame, and teensy, and my focus was off, and it's marred by clouds, but I'll take it.<br><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Perseid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Perseid</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Meteor" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Meteor</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Astrphotography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Astrphotography</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Photography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Photography</span></a></p>

Stephen Shankland<p>Update: actually it's just a satellite. :( See thread.</p><p>Well, I can't say I'm any great shakes at astrophotography, but I did manage to see 3 Perseid meteors and photograph 2, despite clouds, light pollution, and camera fumbles. I'll put this is the successfully documented category, but it's not a great photo. 35mm (very cropped) 15 sec., f1.4, ISO 200.</p><p><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Perseid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Perseid</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Meteor" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Meteor</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Astrophotography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Astrophotography</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/stars" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>stars</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/LightPollution" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LightPollution</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Photography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Photography</span></a></p>
Mastodon Migration<p>Trying to observe the Perseid meteor shower through clusters of Starlink satellites crisscrossing the sky is a metaphor for our times. Billionaires are simply ruining everything.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Perseid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Perseid</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Starlink" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Starlink</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Musk" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Musk</span></a></p>
Carrie<p>Got to watch <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/Perseid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Perseid</span></a> with both kiddos for a little while, my teenager for about an hour and a half, and myself for about thirty minutes. Jim Frost<p>The moon rising over Loch Buidhe early on Thursday morning. To the upper right of the moon is Pleiades, or the Seven Sisters, and further to the right is Jupiter. All creating just enough light to catch the heather in full bloom. There’s even a token Perseid meteor at the top of the picture above the moon if you look really closely <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/Cairngorms" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Cairngorms</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/Scotland" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Scotland</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/Moonscape" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Moonscape</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/Jupiter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Jupiter</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/Perseid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Perseid</span></a></p>
