Jan R. Boehnke<p>Reflecting that I started using <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/NightshiftEditor" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>NightshiftEditor</span></a> 2+ years ago:<br><a href="https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7224353965084217344/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:l</span><span class="invisible">i:activity:7224353965084217344/</span></a></p><p>Main point of my first post then was that there are tools to help avoiding unwanted references to retracted papers such as the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/RetractionWatch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RetractionWatch</span></a> data base<br><a href="https://retractionwatch.com/retraction-watch-database-user-guide/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">retractionwatch.com/retraction</span><span class="invisible">-watch-database-user-guide/</span></a></p><p>and you can link tools such as <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://fosstodon.org/@zotero" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>zotero</span></a></span> <a href="https://www.zotero.org/blog/retracted-item-notifications/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">zotero.org/blog/retracted-item</span><span class="invisible">-notifications/</span></a><br>or since last year even <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Endnote" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Endnote</span></a>:<br><a href="https://support.clarivate.com/Endnote/s/article/EndNote-20-Retraction-Alerts?language=en_US" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">support.clarivate.com/Endnote/</span><span class="invisible">s/article/EndNote-20-Retraction-Alerts?language=en_US</span></a></p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/PaperWriting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PaperWriting</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Retraction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Retraction</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ResearchIntegrity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ResearchIntegrity</span></a></p>
Pamela Oliver<p>Wondering whether anyone is interested in an ongoing thread about the process of <a href="https://sciences.social/tags/DataCleaning" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DataCleaning</span></a> and <a href="https://sciences.social/tags/PaperWriting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PaperWriting</span></a> in our project about <a href="https://sciences.social/tags/NewsCoverage" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>NewsCoverage</span></a> of <a href="https://sciences.social/tags/BlackProtest" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BlackProtest</span></a> in mainstream newswires and Black newspapers. Lots of data to clean (~10K articles &amp; ~10K events), so looking for ways to get papers along the way. We clean data by issue cluster, so I reviewed the <a href="https://sciences.social/tags/MillionManMarch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MillionManMarch</span></a> articles &amp; decided to see if there is a paper about that. I think I saw some interesting patterns.</p>
