Blake Patterson<p>Back in the late '90s I registered / paid for a few programs for the Apple Newton with Kagi, one of the early payment processors. I hadn't much thought about them since.</p><p>On IRC, I just overheard that there is some paid search engine called Kagi, at the same URL. </p><p>But, what happened to the Kagi I knew? Most of the new additions are Japanese, but there's one English one with tons of downloads. I wrote it in Metrowerks CodeWarror C, and the amount of work to draw a pie chart on a system without floating point OR math libraries was nuts. And flood fills? Good lord</p>

Mit zwei AAA-Batterien kam man wochenlang hin. Es gab ein monochromes LCD und eine rudimentäre Erkennung mittels eines "Stylus" eingegebener einzelner Buchstaben. Natürlich noch ohne Mobilfunkanbindung.
