And have non-tech people appreciate how subtle things can get overlooked in complex systems, and you end up in xkcd dependency comic situations.</p><p>Internal IP, site, device name stuff redacted/obscured because it doesn't actually matter. But be as candid as possible.</p><p>That's the level of transparency we should expect from a company that wants the status of "critical infrastructure" that has "national security" implications.</p>

How's that working out? </p><p>The stingy data handout is a major additional screw-up by Optus.</p><p>If a customer who pays $100 every 28 days, one day of service works out to be $3.57. </p><p>For a prepaid customer paying $30 every 28 days, it's $1.07.</p><p>Optus has around 10 million mobile customers.</p><p>Crediting each of them the higher figure of $3.57 would cost the company a total of $35.7 million in revenue.</p><p>Optus is a subsidiary of Singapore Telecom.
