Nathan Hubbard<p>Live stream of the Barnard-Seyfert Astronomical Society meeting. Tonight we’re excited to hear from NASA astrobiologist Dr. Jason Dworkin as he shares insights from the OSIRIS-REx mission, which returned over 120 grams of asteroid Bennu to Earth—revealing clues about the early solar system and recently published in Nature Astronomy! 🚀🌍 <a href="https://macaw.social/tags/OSIRISREx" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>OSIRISREx</span></a> <a href="https://macaw.social/tags/Astrobiology" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Astrobiology</span></a> <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XpuVuPqnDLI" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">youtube.com/watch?v=XpuVuPqnDL</span><span class="invisible">I</span></a> <a href="https://macaw.social/tags/space" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>space</span></a></p>

AkaSci 🛰️<p>One of the first orgs to get samples of asteroid Bennu collected by OSIRIS-REx was JAXA. 0.66 grams of the material and one of the 24 contact pads were officially handed over by NASA officials during a ceremony on Aug. 22 at JAXA’s Sagamihara, Japan, campus.</p><p>JAXA has experience with such research, having collected samples from asteroid Ryugu in a similar mission named HAYABUSA-2.
