As some of you know my current fixed term contract as a research software engineer at the University of #Glasgow is coming to an end. So, I am looking for a new job either in or out of academia where I would get to do more programming than admin.

I have written open source geospatial software in academia and industry for the last 30 years. I'm good at debugging, teaching, mentoring but not meetings.

Oregon State University | Open Source Lab ( #OSUOSL) is in jeopardy of shutting down this year because of budget cuts. OSUOSL has been vital to the functioning of OSGeo (Open Source Geospatial Foundation) lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/sac/ Projects under #OSGeo are #PostGIS, pgRouting, #QGIS GeoServer, GDAL, GEOS and others which are foundational software for the GIS community both in Open Source arena and others.
