Today the Star Tribune reminded me that lady’s slippers - Minnesota’s state flower - are starting to bloom. One of the places they recommended was Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden, not far from Minneapolis.<br>
<br>
I hadn’t been there before, so I went. The garden was charming, though a few trails (the ones where lady’s slippers are supposed to grow) were closed. So no state flower for me but I did find plenty of other wildflowers. And I liked the place enough to want to come back.<br>
<br>
Plus, there are a bunch of bike trails nearby, so plenty left to explore.<br>

Ms. Que Banh<p>We spent a couple of hours, walking around Hemer Provincial Park, yesterday. We both love this park & it was a fave when we lived in Cedar, at different times - back before we'd met.<br>Nice mixed forest. We found a big hollowed out trunk that went down pretty deep - it's the photo of Beau standing inside. We start on a busy road – my sound meter clocks in at over 80 decibels – and we head to a quiet tree-lined avenue where the noise is down to the 50s. </p><p>"But there is something different about this street – it used to be a busy road, but the space was given over to pedestrians, cafes and gardens. I can see the ghost of an old cross roads by the shape of the flowerbeds.
