Thought I'd be able to read a few more but then the plague got me and my head has been swimming. <br>I successfully read 22/20 books of my reading challenge. 📚</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/MyYearInBooks" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MyYearInBooks</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Bookstodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Bookstodon</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Goodreads" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Goodreads</span></a></p>
His & Hearse Press<p>The last few hours of 2022 are drawing to a close, so I think my “Year in Books” list is complete. I managed to read 111 books! Nearly 42,000 pages (though the vast majority were audiobooks - that’s my secret trick for success). </p><p>Pro tip: get a library card and borrow eBooks and audiobooks from the library for FREE. If you’re new to audiobooks, they’re perfect for commuting or mindless household chores. Start with books you know or have seen the movie because you may need to train your brain to listen. Reading a familiar book means you don’t need to focus on the plot and you won’t get lost if you space out for a bit. Also, adjust the reading speed! It can be slowed down or sped up to suit your preferences. </p><p>Here are a few of the 111 titles that stood out to me this year. In no particular order: </p><p>The Book of Two Ways, Jodi Picoult</p><p>Remarkably Bright Creatures, Shelby Van Pelt </p><p>The House in the Cerulean Sea, TJ Klune</p><p>Under the Whispering Door, TJ Klune </p><p>The School for Good Mothers, Jessamine Chan </p><p>While Justice Sleeps, Stacey Abrams</p><p>The Thursday Murder Club, Richard Osman</p><p>The Man Who Died Twice, Richard Osman</p><p>The Bullet That Missed, Richard Osman</p><p>Lessons In Chemistry, Bonnie Garmus</p><p>The Change, Kirsten Miller</p><p>An Absolutely Remarkable Thing, </p><p>A Beautifully Foolish Endeavor, Hank Green</p><p>Tales of a Sunflower, Valerie Young Turner</p><p>The IQ Series, Joe Ide</p><p>Legends and Lattes, Travis Baldree</p><p>Hidden Pictures, Jason Rekulak</p><p>Plus some rereads, like Nightbitch (Rachel Yoder), The Count of Monte Cristo (Alexandre Dumas), A Man Called Ove (Fredrik Backman), The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo trilogies (Stieg Larsson and David Lagercrantz). </p><p>Oh, and LOTS of funeral and embalming texts!</p><p>What was YOUR favorite read this year???</p><p><a href="https://c.im/tags/HisAndHearsePress" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HisAndHearsePress</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/AmReading" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AmReading</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/JustRead" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>JustRead</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/JustFinishedReading" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>JustFinishedReading</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/Goodreads" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Goodreads</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/GoodreadsChallenge" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GoodreadsChallenge</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/MyYearInBooks" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MyYearInBooks</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/Books" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Books</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/Reading" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Reading</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/FavoriteBooks" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FavoriteBooks</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/TBR" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TBR</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/TBRPile" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TBRPile</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/BooksofMastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BooksofMastodon</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/Bookstodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Bookstodon</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/Bookwyrm" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Bookwyrm</span></a></p>
