Calling the diorama finished. I just need to leave it alone now. Don't mess with it, think of new things to add to it, add more drybrushing to the waves. And definitely. No. Seagulls.

This is going into the island Open Exhibition. I never thought of myself as an artist before, and it'll be sat alongside photographers, knitters, painters, and the like. Which is weird. But I feel pretty pleased. I learnt some stuff. I made some mistakes. I had fun.

First ever resin pour. Send thoughts and prayers. 🤣

Assuming it survives the next 72 hours, I need to add waves, finish the cliff, add static grass, build up the sand around the boat, and finish off a couple more miniatures. I have a week before final submission date for the local craft festival...

Hadn't pained a model in about a year so this was fun. The oil wash I tried went pretty sideways on me, so she's not as spruce as I was hoping for, but definitely looks better than this crappy cellphone pic is leading onto.

Fun project to turn a couple fish tins into a boat. I think I'll probably have another go at it before too long. We're also gonna build some scenery for the game at some point soon too I think.

Finally finished this scratch built mech sculpture. Started this around 4 months ago and just worked on it when I had time to here and there. It's made from little cut up pieces of thrift store toys, epoxy putty, modeling styrene sheet/tube/rod, and other bits and bobs.

Pretty happy with how he turned out and excited to start on a new one. I'll post some work in progress photos in the thread.

Before #COVID and when were working in the office, I was tasked with making a fun performance board. I went with a NASA Mission Control theme with toggle switches and lights and gages. I even built a rocket out of foam core and had a gantry coming off the dry erase board. I'd show the board but some of it is proprietary so l'll just include a shot of the foam core rocket. This week I made a #3Dprint of the rocket. I painted it with the same color scheme to evoke what I did then. I gave it to my boss and she was gracious enough to send me a picture of it displayed on her desk.

I’ll admit I’d do about 30 things differently if I had to it again. I affirm it’s not my best work but sometimes it’s about letting projects go.

Hello peeps! Just migrated servers. I'm Devo. I'm a non-binary AuDHD queerdo who is a freelance designer and media manager unable to work due to MECFS/POTS. (Very similar to long covid, if not the same thing)

I have a passion for building architectural and landscape models, language learning, garden design (former landscape designer) and ethical fashion design/pattern making/sewing.

I'm also former seagoing cook and arctic storekeeper. I have a background in composing and electronic music and worked on building synths in another era. Former opera singer and touring punk musician as well.

I post cooking tips and recipes when I have the energy at hashtag ouchThatsTasty

I'm anti-fascist, anti-racist, anti-capitalist and pretty vocal about ableism.

Figuring out my brain little by little with my lovely partner and growing hoardes of hot chiles together.
