Bryan Wright<p>These are terrible pictures, but this is the first one of these I've seen. When I was chasing it I thought it was a cranefly, but It's a hangingfly, a mecopteran related to scorpionflies. iNaturalist thinks it might be Bittacus strigosus.</p><p>The first picture has slightly better focus on the head, and the second is a little better on the prey, which is itself interesting. Is it a fly?
