More impressive is the fact that the problem has helped to make wind turbines more efficient. The model of turbine efficiency was first proposed by a British aerodynamicist last century, but the model was based on a maths problem that assumed turbines were solid. For years many attempts were made to refine the model. But now its solved.https://www.discovermagazine.com/the-sciences/100-year-old-math-problem-broken-helping-to-improve-wind-turbine-efficiency
