I've actually noticed this a while ago, and I don't really see an issue for this, so I went ahead and opened it myself.
Finally got my hands on the latest version, and grouped notifications are a huge improvement!
(This version is still being slowly rolled out, so if you can't wait either: https://www.patreon.com/mastodon)
Please recommend a Mastodon app for android to me!
I use the official one currently, but it lacks a lot of features compared to the web client and a pretty serious bug I've reported hasn't gotten any reply in nearly a year. (I'm not blaming any individual for this, rather I'm frustrated at the state of system.)
I've tried tusky and didn't like the UI. What else is out there? What do you like? What don't you like? Why?
Just a reminder that if you're too impatient to wait for when the next versions of Mastodon's mobile apps are officially announced, you can always follow @mastodon_mobile_apps.
@mastodon_mobile_apps Not a huge fan of this update. The extra section in the article preview card at the bottom, with the name of the author, to me, suggests that tapping it will bring me to the author's page.
Also, there must've been a change to the username area (highlighted in the screenshot for visibility). Whenever I want to tap the text of the post to view it, I end up opening the profile of the person posting instead. Not a great user experience.
@Stark9837 I hear a lot of folks rave about Megalodon and Tusky. Can also check here: https://joinmastodon.org/apps and here: https://github.com/hueyy/awesome-mastodon #MastodonClients #AndroidApps #MastodonAndroid
A new year, a new small review for @megalodon, the Mastodon app I believe is the best currently on Android.
- Unique design of the official app.
- A lot of features unavailable in the official app such as alt-text viewing and editing, hashtag following.
- Material You colours. This means that the app colour matches the colours of your wallpaper (Android 12+)
- Smooth.
- Remembers scroll position.
- **Drafts** and scheduled posts!!
- Constantly updated!
Thank you so much to the developer of Megalodon. I love the app so much.
@Gargron looking forward to a #Mastodon #Android update. Surprised there hasn't been one yet since the explosion. Other apps have better features, but the UX/UI for the official app is so pleasant to look at, I want to use it primarily.
Either that or @Tusky can up it's game to feel less sterile/generic
