Anya Chalina<p>The Royal Manticore<br>Wanted to post this artwork on its own. This piece is very special to me because it helped me to define the style I want to follow with my work. I am also planning to draw a comic about the Manticore and the universe I built from this piece. </p><p><a href="https://mastodon.art/tags/illustration" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>illustration</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.art/tags/fantasy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>fantasy</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.art/tags/manticore" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>manticore</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.art/tags/CreativeToots" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CreativeToots</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.art/tags/fediart" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>fediart</span></a></p>

Bevan Thomas<p>The manticore is a man-eating monster of Persian and European folklore that resembles a human-headed lion. Despite the manticore's human features, its intelligence is only that of an animal's. When it speaks, the manticore is just parroting words in a high-pitched falsetto.</p><p><a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/MythologyMonday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MythologyMonday</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/31DaysofHaunting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>31DaysofHaunting</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/Mythology" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Mythology</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/Folklore" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Folklore</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/Persia" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Persia</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/PersianFolklore" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PersianFolklore</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/PersianMythology" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PersianMythology</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/EuropeanFolklore" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>EuropeanFolklore</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/EuropeanMythology" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>EuropeanMythology</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/Monster" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Monster</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/Bestiary" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Bestiary</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/Manticore" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Manticore</span></a></p>
