"A Cat's Eye View of Japan - Tokyo: Lucky Cats"
Meet Guu, resident cat at a Tokyo bathhouse; Jirori, the 'hall boss' at Asakusa Engei Hall; Chiro and Tora, who greet customers at Asakusa's 300-year old lantern shop; and some of the cats who make their homes at izakayas in the Golden Gai area of Shinjuku's Kabukicho.
So. An #introduction with hashtags aplenty.
I'm Jo, I live in the upper #BlueMountains (Darug Gundangara Country), and much to my surprise I've been around for 43 years so far. I've been online for most of them - I used BBSes pre-internet, spent the late 90s/early 00s on irc and sometimes usenet... and I'm really digging the decentralised non-commercial feel here so far, it's reminding me of earlier times before the algorithms ruled everything.
My interests include #gardening - I'm currently (slowly) setting up a vegetable and herb garden at the house we* moved to earlier this year, I also collect #succulents and grow #houseplants. I'm also a sometimes #gamer, both computer and #tabletopgames.
* We are myself, coparent, and two smalls, plus three cats and a dog.
Most days I spend at home - I've got #chronicpain due to #EhlersDanlosSyndrome, plus #cPTSD, so #disability is a big part of my life. Following diagnoses of other family members, I've finally discovered that I'm #autistic (which explains so damn much) and likely have #ADHD as well - proud to be #neurospicy and create an affirming and positive home for the kids.
What else? I am a #cat person, though I adore all sorts of beasties (including native ones, so the cats stay indoors). I collect #manekineko. I'm not studying at present, but #plantscience #microbiology #biology have been my jam. Lapsed skeptic, non-practising 90s goth.
Flying solo, pan, demi, non-binary.
I'm a loner Dottie, a rebel.
Nice to be here
