Mario Alberto Guzmán<p>Mmmmmm, usable UI that just works...</p><p>Here are some screenshots of MarsEdit 1.1.2 running on Mac OS X Tiger. You can see the sweet drawers too!</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/MacOSX" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MacOSX</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/MacOSXTiger" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MacOSXTiger</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Aqua" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Aqua</span></a></p>
Mario Alberto Guzmán<p>UI frameworks have regressed so much.</p><p>I'm not saying we need to go back to Tiger's Aqua but color, depth, and details like outlines and gradients help distinguish what is something the user can interact with.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/MacOSXTiger" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MacOSXTiger</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/macOSTahoe" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>macOSTahoe</span></a></p>
<br><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/retrocomputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>retrocomputing</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/powermaccube" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>powermaccube</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/apple" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>apple</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/macosxtiger" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>macosxtiger</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/g4cube" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>g4cube</span></a></p>
Andrea Busi (bubidevs)<p>Dopo tanto tempo l'ho trovato: il Power Mac G4 Cube.</p><p>Purtroppo è senza alimentatore, quindi per prima cosa dovrò trovarne uno originale o trovare una soluzione alternative (spoiler: sono carissimi).</p><p>Poi upgrade: installazione di un SSD, pulizia generale ed installazione di Mac OS X Tiger.</p><p>Farlo tornare operativo è come riaccendere un’epoca in cui ogni Mac era un’idea totalmente nuova.</p><p>Ti porto con me nel processo ✌️</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/retrocomputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>retrocomputing</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/powermaccube" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>powermaccube</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/apple" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>apple</span></a> <br><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/macosxtiger" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>macosxtiger</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/g4cube" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>g4cube</span></a></p>

Mario Alberto Guzmán<p>POV: You're updating your Mac OS X Tiger machine and you're able to get updates for apps individually rather than having to wait for a whole ass OS point-release update.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/MacOSX" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MacOSX</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/MacOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MacOS</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/MacOSXTiger" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MacOSXTiger</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/SoftwareUpdate" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SoftwareUpdate</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Aqua" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Aqua</span></a></p>
Mario Alberto Guzmán<p>Okay... I've gotten a good amount of messages that you like QuickTune but you don't like the brushed metal theme from Mac OS X Tiger…</p><p>First of all, how DARE you? Brushed Metal was GORGEOUS!!! 😜</p><p>Second... fiiiiiiiiiiiine. * Coming Soon * there will be an update where you can change the theme to the QuickTime 7 Leopard UI. Gone are the brushed metal and glassy effects when enabled.</p><p>Here's a quick glance at what it will look like:</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/MacOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MacOS</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/MacOSX" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MacOSX</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/MacOSXLeopard" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MacOSXLeopard</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/MacOSXTiger" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MacOSXTiger</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Aqua" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Aqua</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/UI" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>UI</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/UX" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>UX</span></a></p>
Mario Alberto Guzmán<p>The DVD Player controller in Mac OS X Tiger was so damn cute! I loved the little side drawer.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/MacOSX" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MacOSX</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/macOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>macOS</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/MacOSXTiger" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MacOSXTiger</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Aqua" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Aqua</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/BrushedMetal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BrushedMetal</span></a></p>
Mario Alberto Guzmán<p>One of the betas of <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/MacOSXTiger" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MacOSXTiger</span></a> had Aqua/Graphite end caps on the menu bar. I suppose it was to emphasize/highlight the addition of Spotlight in Tiger but was balanced by making the Apple logo also have the end-cap look.</p><p>I couldn’t find the standard <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Aqua" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Aqua</span></a> version but here it is in Graphite with the Server version of Tiger. A friend brought it up and reminded me of this. Never made it to the final public initial release of Tiger but does look interesting.</p><p>Anyone I know got to try it?</p>

Mario Alberto Guzmán<p>In modern <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/macOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>macOS</span></a> toolbars, you can't click on the label to activate the button. So you're confined to a much smaller hit target to click the toolbar button.</p><p>I tested in Mac OS X Tiger, and sure enough, you can also click the text label.</p><p>The 19 year old OS is more usable.</p><p>Feedback Suggestion FB13546719</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/AppKit" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AppKit</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Aqua" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Aqua</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/MacOSX" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MacOSX</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/macOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>macOS</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/MacOSXTiger" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MacOSXTiger</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Macintosh" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Macintosh</span></a></p>
