I’m currently decluttering and found my old #MacBookPro. I figured it wasn’t good for anything except recycling at this point but then I noticed Apple will still buy them back so... I figured I’d see if any fedi friends have need of an Early 2015 MacBook Pro.

I’m sorry if it’s so ancient that the offer is silly but if you just wanted to check emails/apply to jobs/write a book/etc. it would still probably serve you well.

Just found my daughter’s 2020 M1 #MacBookPro with 16GB of RAM. Thought about selling it, but going to try #Asahi #Linux on bare metal first.

So... the new MacBook Pro has a MagSafe 3 port and an HDMI port, in addition to 3 Thunderbolt ports. Why did Apple add an HDMI port, for cryin' out loud? Does a native HDMI connection offer any advantage over Thunderbolt -> HDMI?

I have a 15” MacBook Pro with the M1 Pro chip. I have new Cat 6 cable and a brand new Anker USB-C to Ethernet 2.5 gbps dongle.

My Ethernet drops whenever I plug the MacBook to charge—either by MagSafe or USB-C. I’ve switched USB-C ports (there’s 3) repeatedly and it is definitely dropping the minute I plug in a charger and will resume once I disconnect the charger.
