v<p>Hey lock pickers. Moving into the suburbs and after I buy a house I'll be changing the locks (obviously).</p><p>The price for a good medeco lock from my local smith is higher than I can do right now, and I'm looking at getting a Schlage B60 for each entry door. From my reading it appears to be a 5 pin re-keyable lock. However, I haven't picked/taken one apart to judge for myself yet.</p><p>Anyone have any input or information sources? There's windows which would act as the alternate entry path for a determine burglar.</p><p><a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/lockpicking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>lockpicking</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/lockpickers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>lockpickers</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/locksmith" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>locksmith</span></a></p>
Different Than<p>Been working all day for <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/easter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>easter</span></a> for my daughter. We're not religious. I don't know when this started, but for many years now my kid is visited every year by the Easter Badger. Important things about the Easter Badger:</p><ul><li><p>Is totally real, unlike Santa, Easter Bunny, etc., who are fake and also stupid and EB finds them socially annoying</p></li><li><p>Spells very badly, including their own name</p></li><li><p>Steals all of daughter's candy and hides it in a complicated series of lockboxes and hiding places, with (badly-spelled) clues to the combinations and next stash of candy</p></li><li><p>Finds time to trash talk the Easter Bunny, Santa, the Tooth Fairy, et al. while writing clues in very bad penmanship</p></li><li><p>Does all of this out of love for my daughter</p></li><li><p>Also out of spite, vindictiveness, and to spread anti-Santa/Easter Bunny propaganda (a.k.a. "consciousness raising" or "accurate information")</p></li></ul><p><em>Edit</em>: This year the EB has gone digital (their HTML skills are almost as minimal as mine):</p><p><a href="https://easterbadger.com" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">easterbadger.com</span><span class="invisible"></span></a> </p><p>Most of the clues are on ultra-basic websites like this, which helps EB b/c I--I mean they--can adjust a clue while the hunt is on by editing a page:</p><p><a href="https://easterbadger.com/purplepurpl.html" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">easterbadger.com/purplepurpl.h</span><span class="invisible">tml</span></a></p><p>And I <em>think</em> it's set up so it's difficult (hopefully impossible) to see any of these pages without knowing and typing in the URL. My kid can do the latter, but neither of us are coders or webdevs so any advanced hacking is beyond us.</p><p>Note: They got very distracted with EB's use of physical padlocks for some puzzles so they've been picking locks for an hour. :) Happy moments.</p><p><a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/EasterBadger" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>EasterBadger</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/easter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>easter</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/badger" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>badger</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/BetterThanSanta" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BetterThanSanta</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/funny" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>funny</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/IHope" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>IHope</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/holiday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>holiday</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/secular" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>secular</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/lockpicking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>lockpicking</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/sidequest" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>sidequest</span></a></p>
