Pomegranate Pirate 🏳️‍🌈🏴‍☠️The Woodland Toy Library (no longer exists). It’s worth sharing because it was an excellent place to stop by and grab something fun and temporary for your kids. It really had a cool collection of toys, including water/sand tables and sets of toys you might want to use for a bit but not have to store. I remember some science stuff. I would expand a toy library to have more STEM stuff that would be good for all families to be able to have access to. “ Located in downtown Woodland next to Freeman Park, the Woodland Toy Library (WTL) is a community-based organization open to all Yolo County families, as well as family daycare providers and day care centers. Run as a community service, the Library is staffed and managed entirely by member-volunteers and is sponsored by the City of Woodland's Parks & Recreation Department. The Toy Library is a great way for your family to reduce clutter in your home, save money, and meet other like-minded families. We have about 600 age-appropriate toys for infants, preschoolers, and grade-schoolers. Our tool library is largely hidden because we have the equivalent of someone’s over stuffed garage down in our basement! All items easily found in a binder on display or online. Folks are usually surprised or really grateful to be able to borrow a ladder or weedwacker without having to buy one. I know our director has been able to secure grant money to help fund this project. We started small last year and expanded it exponentially! DoomsdaysCWSo, I was pleased to learn that a small local library (in a historic building) is offering "explorer bags" to borrow!
