Duolingo-style exercises but with real-world content like the news
#Duolingo finally has spoken exercises for Korean.
Now if only it did any checking whatsoever.
I know I mangled a couple of those bc I auto-piloted to the wrong ending particle.
One time I only got half way through the exercise bc I was trying to be careful about that. It interrupted me, before I even finished.
And it was like: "Great job! "
Like... No... no it wasn't. It wasn't even a finished job.
If you took in-person classes for learning the Dutch language in Amsterdam, and you felt they helped, can you tell me where you took them? I need to get to at least A2 by November, but preferably B1. (I'm at A1 right now, but would do a refresher no problem)
If its after 17:00 on weekdays, the closer to the rings the better. If its weekends, it can be anywhere in Amsterdam.

Thank you Canada for trusting in my resources and helping to make them best sellers!

I'm Alicia and I'm a fibre artist (#dyeing #handspinning #felting #needlefelting #weaving #crochet #embroidery #upcycling #sewing) with interests in #mandala #art #psychedelicart #sacredgeometry #neurographicart and #watercolors.
My family and I run a business called @Fibre2Fabric where we dye all sorts of exotic #fibre #yarn, and #fabric.
I live in the country with my partner and our 6 #cats, 3 #dogs, #snake and #crestedgecko where I enjoy my many interests. (#gardening #plants #herbalism #fungi #music #ukulele #piano #dancing #flowart #reading #writing #tarot #poetry #haiku #cozygames and I'm getting more into #opensource / #linux)
When I say flow art, I mean spinning props like #hulahoop #leviwand #puppyhammer #poi #staff #silkfans #firefans etc.
I love #languagelearning. I studied #German and #Spanish as a kid, took #Japanese in uni, and I'm currently studying #ASL #Cree #Tokipona #Spanish and #Chinese. I also dabble in #French and #Latin sometimes and I'm learning #Greggshorthand to write faster. Cree is my favourite language and Spanish is my second.
I've been cursed since childhood with that lovely trifecta of #heds #pots and #mcas. Healing slowly but surely.
Hope I get to meet even more cool people the algorithms would normally drown out on other social media sites. I love it here!
Will my programs make you fluent in Hebrew? How long will it take? What’s the best way?
Forget about fluency. It’s not a switch you flip—it’s a journey.
I’ve spoken English since I was 4, run a business in it, and am even married to an English speaker. Am I fluent? No idea. And it doesn’t matter.
Fluency isn’t about never making mistakes. It’s about progress.
The real magic? Understanding more conversations
Ordering in Hebrew with confidence
Building relationships & new opportunities
Focus on small wins. Find a method that keeps you moving forward. Enjoy the process. That’s what makes Hebrew part of your life!
People treat these as facts, but they’re what keep learners stuck!
I hear… “More study = speaking will feel natural.” (Yet it only gets harder.)
“No immersion = no real progress.” (So they keep waiting… and never start.)
“I must read/write before speaking.” (Not if speaking is your goal! I’ve solved the ‘how’—just follow my steps.)
These aren’t just myths—they’re roadblocks. Once you learn differently, everything changes.
Which one have you believed? Drop the number below!
P.S. Sunday’s email will shatter what you thought about learning Hebrew. Comment “EMAIL” to get it!
One of the most useful things I did was to take the Outlier course. Expensive, yes, but I'm a geek when it comes to learning how things work. Understanding this about Chinese characters not only helped me learn better but also helped me understand the logic, philosophical and historical reasons behind why each character was written this way.

@officehippy it could be a podcast too. i got the audio files with the books I bought but I did try some podcasts when my #Korean wasn't yet at this level.
Even when I don't have time to study #Korean, I feel like I am not losing any progress. Moreover I've seen my pronunciation improve considerably, though I still get challenged by some words (like 깨끗핬으면 "kkekkeutasseumion"
)
Memory. It's hard to repeat long sentences in a foreign language and sometimes I say the first half but forget the second one. It's a good exercise to remember things we only hear once.
