Ms. Que Banh<p>Doing some meal planning for next week before heading off to VGH for 6am pre-op support, before my orthotics appointment at 8:30am.</p><p>I'm a huge fan of the tomatoes based Manhattan clam chowder. I'm lactose intolerant so tend to avoid creamy soups - not a fan of the more popular New England cream based clam chowder. I've only found one place in <a href="https://beige.party/tags/VictoriaBC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VictoriaBC</span></a> that offers it on their menu, White Spot. I'll let you know how it pans out for me. My issues with milk seem to be with the biology that comes along with it. I eat this dish in the restaurant and it hasn't killed me. I also think that the longer you stew/brew/simmer the sauce, the better for me. I won't claim it tastes like cheese since it's been a long time since I last had dairy but it is cheese adjacent. Rich, creamy and brightly colored. Sylke’s home cookingOver the last days we had lots of Mediterranean style food. Sylke’s home cookingMackerel, salted and baked in the oven, sesame green beans and egg fried rice for me (using up yesterday’s leftover rice, the others had fresh plain rice). Not exactly a fast meal as I had to first pluck quite a few long fish bones from the six fillets and that took some time.
