"Men can tap the power they have accrued and take risks that senior women often can’t, without the risk of hurting their own careers. Senior male leaders should ask themselves, 'How many women do I know? How many women do I trust, spend time with, respect?' she advises. 'All those women that you know and respect, you should be sponsoring.'"

Senator #SenMurrayWatt on ABC:

"It's not accurate for some out there to be claiming we're not doing anything about the climate change impacts of big projects; we are."

Of course they are, why, look at their recent #fossil fuel project approvals. See, they are doing stuff. Largest polluting gas field to set record emmisions over 70 years for all to enjoy. Bunch of wankers. The Hon Mr Watt is bulldozing his portfolio (another moniker for “Mr Fix-it man’ would but ‘bull-headed’).

I remain convinced that #TanyaPlibersek had a good handle on what needed to be done but was consistently stymied at every step by the PM and the neoliberal wing of the Parliamentary Labor party. Bankrupt climate policies are de jure in our govt. Don’t hold your breath for progressive steps in that direction any time soon. Bugger them all.

ABC News · 'Urgent task' to rewrite environment laws vital to Labor's housing, climate and productivity plansBy Jake Evans

This article was written by a member of Black Rose / Rosa Negra (BRRN) with experience in both workplace organizing and neighborhood based organizing against ICE. Drawing on this background, the author describes a series of steps you can start taking today to defend yourself and your coworkers from ICE…

When ICE comes to your workplace, it can be over before you know it. Because they know that the community is opposed to them, ICE has adapted their tactics to be sneaky and fast. That’s why we need to be organized and ready to stand up to them the second they show up. The solidarity of immediate bystanders can mean the difference between deportation and freedom, and, as we’ve seen, can spark waves of resistance.  So when ICE comes to your workplace, be organized to stop them.”

A quotation from Teddy Roosevelt

No man can be a good citizen unless he has a wage more than sufficient to cover the bare cost of living, and hours of labor short enough so that after his day’s work is done he will have time and energy to bear his share in the management of the community, to help in carrying the general load. We keep countless men from being good citizens by the conditions of life with which we surround them.

Speech (1910-08-31), “The New Nationalism,” John Brown Memorial Park dedication, Osawatomie, Kansas

"Trump's policies are simultaneously:

1. Raising financing costs (higher national debt)
2. Raising building material costs (tariffs)
3. Raising construction labor costs (worksite raids)

Naturally, housing starts are going to go down and scarcity gets worse.
