Edit - @SylviaFysica found the style is called anamorphoses!

I'm hoping in the wide fediverse someone can help.

Back in the 1970s my family had an illusion jigsaw puzzle that looked like abstract flowy colour blobs, when you finished, you rolled a piece of reflective material into a tube and placed it into the center and you could see the image! A large group of people in a historical setting.

Does that sound familiar to anyone?

As promised - #3Dprinting enthusiasts and #woodworking people of all ages - here is my handy little blade holder for your #jigsaw (if you own a #DeWalt).

I realized that it's a hassle to find a mounting screw for the thing if you don't have one handy from the cutting fence attachment, so I added a little pop-in split pin that seems to work very well and only looks slightly penis-like (not intentional - form follows function, what can I say).

My latest jigsaw: A tourist map from 1946. A very colonial of view of New Zealand back then, emphasising the many hunting and fishing options available, as well as ties to Britain. Taranaki is described as being "reminiscent of Cornwall and Devon". Naturally there isn't a macron in sight on any Māori place names. A fascinating map with lots of detail which is hard to see on this image. As always, the sea was the hardest part with the 'brute force' being the only real option.

My first ever Wentworth wooden jigsaw - completed. It was a Christmas present, and even though 40 pieces seems few, it was more difficult than I thought it would be. I had a look at their website and am tempted, especially as they have a sale on….. but I really, really need to be good for a couple of months… Maybe I’ll point OH in that direction for upcoming treats instead. Decisions, decisions…..
