Simon Zerafa<p>For the HP Prodesk G4 (and other HP models) if the Keyboard or Mouse isn't working in the UEFI Firmware or Grub menus the workaround in the JetKVM is to go to:</p><p>Hardware -&gt; Settings -&gt; USB Devices</p><p>and select Keyboard Only in Classes.</p><p>There is something wonky with HP devices USB HID support at Boot that means it won't detect JetKVM USB HID devices if the Classes option is set to more than one item in the Classes list.</p><p>Weird 🤔🤷‍♂️</p><p><a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/JetKVM" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>JetKVM</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/USB" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>USB</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/Keyboard" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Keyboard</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/Mouse" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Mouse</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/UEFI" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>UEFI</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/Grub" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Grub</span></a></p>
Simon Zerafa<p>If anyone is working with a JetKVM and needs a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter that works then this lower cost device seems to do the trick:</p><p><a href="https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B081GMCNNF" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="">amazon.co.uk/dp/B081GMCNNF</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p>~£7 or so and seems to work with the test machine I have here (an HP Prodesk G4) which only offers Displayport output on the unit I have (an HDMI module for the HP is available).</p><p>You might come across USB issues with the HP Prodesk devices and the JetKVM but you can alter the USB HID setting for the JetKVM via the Settings -&gt; Hardware -USB Devices section 😊</p><p>Not having a Grub boot menu to switch between Kubuntu and Windows 11 would probably help here 🤷‍♂️🤭</p><p>The KVM seems to be working in Windows 11 and Kubuntu.</p><p><a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/JetKVM" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>JetKVM</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/Displayport" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Displayport</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/HP" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HP</span></a></p>
Linh Pham<p>The JetKVM did not see the HDMI output from the normal Anker USB hub that I use (though it did work with the Elgato 4K X that I was using from my MacBook Pro), so I had to dig out the official dock.</p><p>I had to use the USB splitter to power the JetKVM from a multi-port USB charger and use a USB-C cable with a USB-C to A adapter to connect the USB side of the JetKVM to the dock.</p><p>If I connected the USB-C to A cable included with the JetKVM, I couldn't reliably get USB signal from either the official Deck Dock or the Anker hub.</p><p>If Valve ever comes out with a new version of the dock, I really wish they could include another USB-C port!</p><p><a href="https://linh.social/tags/SteamDeck" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SteamDeck</span></a> <a href="https://linh.social/tags/JetKVM" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>JetKVM</span></a> <a href="https://linh.social/tags/FreeBSD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FreeBSD</span></a></p>
Jorge<p>I haven't had to use my new shiny <a href="https://pug.ninja/tags/JetKVM" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>JetKVM</span></a> to recover from any failures, but it is nice to be able to see the reboot process on my Linux server when I install updates! </p><p>Maybe I should get more of these...</p>
rodti<p>New tech day! Just received my <a href="https://mas.to/tags/JetKVM" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>JetKVM</span></a> which I backed on Kickstarter a while ago.</p>
Zoe<p>A new toy just arrived. Testing it will have to wait to later <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/JetKVM" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>JetKVM</span></a></p>
