It works fine, except printing from <a href="https://social.heise.de/tags/Android" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Android</span></a> inverses black and white.<br><a href="https://social.heise.de/tags/Dell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Dell</span></a> &amp; <a href="https://social.heise.de/tags/Brother" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Brother</span></a> have released <a href="https://social.heise.de/tags/firmware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>firmware</span></a> updates to fix the <a href="https://social.heise.de/tags/bug" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bug</span></a>.<br>But you must have a <a href="https://social.heise.de/tags/Windows" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Windows</span></a> machine to install it. Not because of the firmware, but because the firmware <a href="https://social.heise.de/tags/installer" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>installer</span></a> routine is hidden in 2 .exe files, and I think they check for windows drivers.</p><p>Why not publish <a href="https://social.heise.de/tags/OS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OS</span></a> independent files to upload via FTP?</p>

Mason Pines<p><span class="h-card"><a href="https://mstdn.social/@rysiek" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>rysiek</span></a></span> <br>I've always had to rsync backup my /home data first (which I would do anyway as a safety precaution).<br>Because I know it will always format, I just create new LVM and then rsync data back before ever installing a DE or anything else.<br>I use installer to get base OS, do restore, then run tasksel to install DE (or sometimes manually install if I want a custom and cut-down DE).</p><p>Whilst I agree it is not ideal, the <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/Debian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Debian</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/Installer" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Installer</span></a> is a very good one with options exposed that no other main distro does. It is one of the reasons I stick with <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/Debian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Debian</span></a></p>
