John Eckman<p><strong>John Coltrane, A Love Supreme, 1965 on Impulse!</strong></p><p>Accompanying Coltrane here are McCoy Tyner on piano, Jimmy Garrison on bass, and Elvin Jones on drums. Recorded by Rudy Van Gelder in Hackensack in December 1964 but not released until 1965. </p><p>Arguably Coltrane’s masterpiece (perhaps second to Giant Steps?) and still one of his best selling albums (and platinum certified by RIAA). ctproduced<p>I've been quiet for the last few weeks as I've been working on the first stage of getting my vinyl organized.</p><p>I acquired my vinyl collection in many countries, cities and stages of my life over the last 50-years. It's been in the same house for the last 6-years but in different rooms and places.</p><p>Stage-1 of the re-org now done. I've listed over 500 records for sale on discogs, to be honest most are house music 12" singles. I bought a MacBook Air the other day, purely on impulse. I use an iPad Pro 12.9 as my daily computer, but had cause to handle my daughter’s late model MBA, and *needed* one instantly. <br>Purchased. Shortly after, had buyer’s remorse but missed the cancellation period by apparent minutes. <br>It’s in my possession. It’s beautiful. It’s light. The only thing I can’t do with it that I do with my iPad is draw, but I do that rarely and I still have the iPad, so… <br>What to do?</p>

Lots of things just not happening...</p><p>apropos Tony Scott, his first wife Fran (Attaway) Scott was Creed Taylors admin/secretary at ABC Records. Fran was largely responsible for the orange/black colors and typeface used for <a href="https://jazztodon.com/tags/Impulse" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Impulse</span></a>!</p><p>Tony was invited by the US State Dept. to go on a near/middle east tour in Nov. 59, Fran went with him.
