Beardy Star Stuff<p>Tech pundits don't understand the potential for Apple's Image Playground</p><p>Over the past few weeks the mostly male tech pundits have been going out of their way to discuss just how bad Apple's Image Playground is. All of them that I listen to have said the same thing. The latest is Manton Reese on the Core Int podcast who can't imagine a use case. I’ll continue messing with it the next couple of days. Wonder how long until the novelty wears off.</p>

Habib<p>Ok, I gave <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ImagePlayground" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ImagePlayground</span></a> one of the photos of me I used as my profile photo on that bird site circa 2018/19 and it generated an image I quite like, actually. Might use it as my new Avatar for a while.</p>

Dan Morgan :ksu:<p>Still playing with Image Playground in iOS 18.2 beta. It is prone to caricature, so <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/apple" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>apple</span></a> may want to rethink how this is implemented. It would be easy to accidentally offend someone because you really notice facial features that someone might be self conscious about. </p><p>It is hard to tell it to de-emphasize a facial feature or change how it thinks the hair should look like. I was able to get my hair part closer to reality but it still is very poofy. I’m still think my chin is exaggerated to a point of caricature if not parody.
