horatiorama
Wie gehabt, bucht #IONOS einfach mal Leistungen ab, die nie gebucht wurden. Nach "PHP Support" und "Website Builder" jetzt einfach ein ganz anderer Tarif. 3€ mehr pro Monat. Einfach so. Welch unseriöser Scheißverein!

Fynn Ellie Becker
#Ionos demands 4 € / month for a TLS certificate.

Can we already call this extortion since it would literally be free with Let’s Encrypt?

Kev Quirk
This is a bit scummy from #Ionos. Spun up a teeny weeny VPS to test some stuff, and because I changed the contract to monthly instead of yearly (same price) they applied a £10(+VAT) "setup fee”.

It's an automated process!!

Makes me want to fuck them off.

FeralRobots
#Ionos cancelled. It was just never not gonna be a PITA to deal with them.
Realistically, not many options but to buy another unit of time on Hostgator.

FeralRobots
Looking like a lot of this is #Ionos. If I'd known they were the current incarnation of 1&1 I wouldn't have signed up (1&1 have been infamously obtuse & customer-hostile since forever) & I may yet cancel & just go for some cheap commodity shared crap I can move into quickly. Or even swallow & re-up with #Hostgator, much as I despise them at this point. But this is a real cluster.
Not like I expected it to be easy. I've managed VPS before. But this has been pulling teeth every step of the way.

FeralRobots
Plesk is even more of a disaster than it was the last time I used it, 20 years ago.
& avoid #Ionos like the plague. They have essentially NO support of any kind, at least as far as I can tell. Nothing but help articles (which are so far often wrong) & pointers to Plesk documentation (which is generic & doesn't account for stuff that's missing from your own specific Plesk install).
