WenA fair comment about the weakness of the speaker of the House of Commons even from Matthew Paris. Hoyle has claimed to ‘speak truth to power’. As his treatment of the <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/SNP" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#SNP</a>, Diane <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/Abbott" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Abbott</a> and even Rosie <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/Duffield" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Duffield</a> (although I disagree vehemently with her views) Has shown he is merely a lickspittle who should be removed from his position. It played out like a mini mystery with who did what for what reasons.I have to say what <a href="https://exile.social/tags/Starmer" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Starmer</a> and <a href="https://exile.social/tags/Hoyle" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Hoyle</a> did to hijack the <a href="https://exile.social/tags/SNP" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#SNP</a> motion is fucking disgraceful, especially when <a href="https://exile.social/tags/Labour" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Labour</a> had plenty of opportunities to put forward a <a href="https://exile.social/tags/ceasefire" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#ceasefire</a> motion without having to sabotage the SNP's motion.Labour will win the next GE because of the Tory vote has collapsed. But I so wish we had something better.
