Good idea. Just curious, have you checked out apps like GIMP and Krita? You may want to try following @davidrevoy , he is a professional who uses Krita for his digital artwork, and publishes a lot of his art in the public domain.

I'm CKMo (he/him), a Taiwanese writer living in the bay area of California. One of my goals in writing is to help bring more themes and ideas from East Asian culture into Western media. Some of the other reasons I decided to write include my characters. They've lived with me for some time, and wanted their story to be told. I've also been a fan of the written word since I was young, which started to draw me towards crafting my own prose. Between these and the fact that I have a penchant for writing cool lines, I needed to create a world for all these things to come together. Some of the other hobbies I have outside of writing include Magic the Gathering, various genres of video games, and anime of course. Due to my full time job, I'm assisted in running my accounts by a social media manager. Most posts and comments will be handled by them, but any DMs, emails, or other personal communications will be responded to by myself personally."

Resale shop find. I never even noticed this Lord of the Rings "inspired" series growing up in the 1980s. Critics back then seemed to turf it.

"The Iron Tower Trilogy is, in fact, The Lord of the Rings with the serial numbers filed off. Crudely. Anyone who possesses even a passing familiarity with Tolkien's masterwork should stand aghast at the 'similarities'"

Ouch.

Still this is interesting:
