consumableJoy<p>Plying is completed! I had to do 2 different plying bracelets because the singles snapped once but it worked out because it let me ply easily in two separate sessions. Can’t wait to get this off the bobbin, soaked, and set, so I can see how much there is, understand its weight/grist/whatever and decide what to do with it! <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/HandSpunYarn" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HandSpunYarn</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/handSpinning" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>handSpinning</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/fiberarts" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>fiberarts</span></a></p>

Axiom the Doge<p>This week I cast on this lovely Staghorn Aran Pattern by Janet Szabo</p><p>The yarn I'm using is <a href="https://fiberart.club/tags/HandSpunYarn" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HandSpunYarn</span></a> from a black Finn Sheep fleece I bought this spring. I'll use ~ 3 or 4 lbs for this project, which is roughly half the fleece. No idea what I'm going to do with the rest of it ... not to mention the 2nd one!</p><p>Yarn is woolen spun and chain plied to about 8 WPI. The stitch definition is moderate, but pairs well with this heavily textured pattern</p><p><a href="https://fiberart.club/tags/handSpinning" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>handSpinning</span></a> <a href="https://fiberart.club/tags/knitting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>knitting</span></a> <a href="https://fiberart.club/tags/FiberArts" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FiberArts</span></a> <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://a.gup.pe/u/fiberarts" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>fiberarts</span></a></span></p>
Dendan Setia (Nins)<p>Ok this one is less me being sick and more me being, ah shit in a month I have to be in autumn weather. Colour patterning is due to necessity: I never spun enough yarn in one colour and I really just like to spin fine, so I worked out something that.... could be autumnal? We'll see, we're in Chart E now of this pattern : <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/pretty-as-a-peacock-shawl" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">ravelry.com/patterns/library/p</span><span class="invisible">retty-as-a-peacock-shawl</span></a></p><p><a href="https://mefi.social/tags/knitting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>knitting</span></a> <a href="https://mefi.social/tags/HandSpunYarn" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HandSpunYarn</span></a> <a href="https://mefi.social/tags/handmade" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>handmade</span></a> <a href="https://mefi.social/tags/knitstodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>knitstodon</span></a> <a href="https://mefi.social/tags/shawl" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>shawl</span></a></p>

Dendan SetiaIn happier news, the spindle that I thought was broken/lost (a Turkish spindle comes in mobile parts and the main rod of one of mine disappeared) is no longer so. Coincidentally I've just vacuumed under the bed. 😌<br> <br> Plus, that had me sorting my newly plied yarn into my (what I thought) new bag of just-finisheds, except as you can see, that's a lot of finished yarn that needs to have their twist set!<br> <br> <a href="https://metapixl.com/discover/tags/YarnSpinning?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#YarnSpinning</a> <a href="https://metapixl.com/discover/tags/HandSpunYarn?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#HandSpunYarn</a> <a href="https://metapixl.com/discover/tags/Knitting?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Knitting</a> <a href="https://metapixl.com/discover/tags/Crocheting?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Crocheting</a> <a href="https://metapixl.com/discover/tags/Spinstadon?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Spinstadon</a>
Christine Sandquist<p>Current WIP! This is a two-sided brioche knit scarf. The light side is baby alpaca, and the dark side is falkland plied with a 70% Shetland and 30% tussah silk blend.</p><p><a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/handspun" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>handspun</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/knitting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>knitting</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/handspunyarn" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>handspunyarn</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/briocheknitting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>briocheknitting</span></a></p>
SycamoreFibers<p>Ready for a new blend? How does 50/50 Baby camel and extra fine Merino sound? It’s an exceptionally soft and lofty blend that you won’t want to stop touching. <span class="h-card"><a href="https://a.gup.pe/u/fiberarts" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>fiberarts</span></a></span> <a href="https://mastodon.art/tags/crochet" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>crochet</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.art/tags/knitting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>knitting</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.art/tags/HandSpunYarn" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HandSpunYarn</span></a></p>
No pie for Christiane Knight<p>In case you were curious about the yarn I make, because I had a few questions - here's a pic of the latest spin. This is also my first spin after a year of recovery and rest, so it's good to see that I've still got it. 😉 <br>This is before setting so it'll balance completely after that. It's so soft!</p><p><a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/FiberArts" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FiberArts</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/HandspunYarn" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HandspunYarn</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/Textures" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Textures</span></a></p>
SycamoreFibers<p>One of my favorite colorways, “Tranquil”. I always seem to return to this one when I have new wools breeds or fiber blends to dye. Here’s a comparison of how it looks as wool and how it looks as a 2-ply.

Molly<p>Here’s the handspun I finished while isolating. I got a chance to give it a wash and whack to help set the twist. </p><p>This is a chain (or Navajo) 4ply which is an unusual construction. The main colour (dyed by Southern Cross Fibres) is chained during plying with the accessory ply being carried along. </p><p>It’s a challenging technique suited to spinners who are comfortable with regular chain ply and who have a tensioned Kate. </p><p><span class="h-card"><a href="https://a.gup.pe/u/fiberarts" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>fiberarts</span></a></span> <a href="https://ausglam.space/tags/handspinning" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>handspinning</span></a> <a href="https://ausglam.space/tags/handspun" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>handspun</span></a> <a href="https://ausglam.space/tags/HandspunYarn" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HandspunYarn</span></a> <a href="https://ausglam.space/tags/handmade" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>handmade</span></a></p>
