I have #deGoogled my phone by (ironically) picking up a second-hand #pixel7 and immediately installing #grapheneOS.

Brings me right back to the days of building #gingerbread for my #htc #raider.

I love that there's no #google on this slab - but I have the option of adding google services in case I ever absolutely *need* to use a piece of software available only on play.

Being an #android oldschooler... I was some impressed with the web installer. My grandparents could have installed Graphene on their phones themselves. Fantastic.

« Dans un Proche-Orient où les tenues sont scrutées parce qu’elles disent beaucoup de celui qui les porte, la mue vestimentaire d’Abou Mohammed al-Joulani, chef du groupe islamiste radical Hayat Tahrir al-Cham (HTC, pour « Organisation de libération du Levant »), fait beaucoup parler. »

I’ve always been an Apple / iOS person, starting all the way back with my first gen iPod touch in 2007…

But this promo video for the HTC Hero has always warmed my heart.

I miss the optimistic and earnest feel of the late 2000’s / early 2010’s, the feeling of big changes ahead but to take us to a better place.

My favorite Pocket PC Phone of all time. (Just found it while cleaning) It felt so good in your hand & had great weight.

Codenamed the "Harrier" by MSFT/HTC, it had:
✅ Windows Mobile 5
✅ 320x240 Touch screen
✅ 4 way directional pad + 9 buttons
✅ 3.2mp RF camera + mirror
✅ Slide out tactile kybd
✅ Hidden slide out stylus
✅ 2.5mm audio jack
✅ Removeable Li-Ion battery
✅ SD card memory expansion
(Unfortunately it was AT&T/GSM only & I've always had Verizon/CDMA)
