#Introduction #NewProfilePic #NewAvatar

Chat, I changed my profile pic so maybe it’s time for a reintroduction?

I’m Olympia (pronounced oh-LAN-pee-yah 🎶). My nom de guerre is borrowed from Hoffmann’s operatic automaton.

I’m #trans-femme / sapphic / nonbinary(?) / gender-fluid(?) (… still debugging my gender)

She/they but I’m only out to a few close friends IRL. I’m hoping the #HRT will make that difficult in the coming years…

New profile photo is me, yet not. She has my eyes, complexion, and general vibe… but wrapped in a cyber-Victorian shell to hide my dysphoria.

Professional software debugger by day. Here for #transjoy, opera tangents, und licht cyberpunk pastel aesthetics.

⚠️ Warning: will boost terrible tech puns and vintage hardware nostalgia without warning (except this one).

⚠️ Zweite Warnung: Mein Deutsch ist nicht so gut wie ich denke.

Anyone know if #HRT (cis) affects ability to cope with heat? We’re on our second heatwave of this summer here in the UK, and I’ve been feeling unwell on and off all day, and I suspect it’s heat related. (A lot of the symptoms the NHS website lists for heat exhaustion.) Luckily I have lots of ice packs in the freezer and don’t have to go anywhere, so when the sweats hit I can go and grab one.

For whom it may concern:
Today I learned that one doesn’t necessarily need to wait for the first day of their period to start #HRT for #perimenopause support (“treatment” would make it sound like it’s an illness). Indeed your endocrinologist can do a simple blood check to identify in which part of your cycle you are and, if you’re nowhere close to ovulating, your doctor might give you the go to start the treatment (this is only valid for hormones treatment that are cycle based, of course)

Since my last #introduction was in January 2023 - a lifetime ago - it feels like time for a new one.

I'm Rebecca, a 43-year-old #queer woman and software engineer in Fort Collins, #Colorado. I'm married and parenting a sweet, also-queer 12-year-old kiddo.

I post a lot about my #transition journey:

* My egg cracked slowly from 2020-2022
* I started #HRT on 7/28/2023
* Came out publicly as #trans on 3/28/2024
* Had #VFS on 5/28/2025
* Have bottom surgery scheduled for 1/26/2026

Also posting about #parenting, queer life, #neurodiversity, and whatever my current hyper-focus is. Expect #train and #aviation stuff and a TON of selfies - some #NSFW, especially #kink (#shibari #rope are special joys). I use CWs for these.

I work in #healthcare #tech, where I help connect at-risk patients with faster care. I travel a lot for work and never say no to a window seat.

Here for queer joy, friendships, connection, and thoughtful conversation.

Quite often I hear a question from my clients: “When will I see the results of HRT?”
And my reply is always the same: “You will not see it, but feel. #HRT is mostly for your brain and mental health. Everything else is a bonus.”

Continued thread

I am not trying to scare anyone, I just want you to prepare to stock your fridge with healthy, easy access snacks, TONS of protein, and filling foods!

I failed to do this before my first injection yesterday, even though each gel increase made me feel like I had never seen food in my life (for like 1-2 months).

Now I am so hungry all sense has left my brain.

This is one of the reasons the side effects say "may cause weight gain" - other is muscle growth!
