Bought some new records at the local flea market. I love old 78s.

The best thing about these are the sleeves.

"Music you want When you want it"
"In your home - Anytime!"

This radical new tech was destined to kill live performance and broadcast radio...

The gramophone record has a unique charm & sound quality. The analog sound gives a warm & rich tone that’s more pleasant than digital formats. Perhaps the nostalgia contributes - to browse through the records, put on the needle & listen to the music in its entirety.
An engaging experience.

Hello everyone! I've been around fedi for a while on my own Mastodon server, but I've now decided to join beige.party at @jessica's recommendation - so here's my new #Introduction!

In a mid-30s cis man from Bristol, UK. I mostly toot about #genealogy, #esperanto, and #gramophone records. I also play a bunch of musical instruments and arrange classical and folk music for ukuleles and ocarinas, and occasionally play them in videos.

I've been pretty quiet on fedi for a while, but hoping to get more involved with the community again now!

@brassmusic Happy New Year from all of us at Hathersage Brass Band.....and here's the next instalment of The Wonderful World of Brass Instruments.
This is the "Corno da Tirarsi en Extremis" quite a large beast that I made up from a #FrenchHorn a #BassTrombone in G, 1.5 metres of 1/2" #CopperPipe and a #Gramophone horn! It's the first #horn in a sextet of strange beasts that will hopefully get an outing before the end of year - watch this space! #BrassBand
