Hei Fediverse! Kennt jemand die #suchmaschine #Kagi @kagihq ? Findet ihr sie technisch und funktional gut? Was sagt ihr zum Bezahlmodell? Ich persönlich fand #GoogleSearch lange ungeschlagen, hatte aber Mühe mit dem Geschäftsmodell. Mittlerweile habe ich aber auch Mühe mit den "Suchresultaten" (selten relevant) und dem Verhältnis Werbung zu "echtem" Inhalt. Daher auf der Suche...

@Tutanota The decline is directly related to the AI turd that is being pushed out in Google search. It is not clear when I go to a website what is AI generated, AI curated and what is written by humans. And the results are pure thrash.

Goddamit #google I am not searching on Amazon or Ebay. I do not want to purchase something. I want information. If I want to buy something I would go to shopping.google.com

Apropos: I just read about a fake Austin restaurant that doesn't actually exist, that posts pics of its interior and food on IG, all of which are AI...

(And pretty obvious, btw, for anyone slightly critical/discerning. They have a croissant creation shaped like Moo Deng, intricately/delicately detailed with eyes and nostrils, etc).

This account has 72K followers, most of whom are apparently unaware that none of it is real.

We are so doomed.
