@Tutanota The decline is directly related to the AI turd that is being pushed out in Google search. It is not clear when I go to a website what is AI generated, AI curated and what is written by humans. And the results are pure thrash.
Goddamit #google I am not searching on Amazon or Ebay. I do not want to purchase something. I want information. If I want to buy something I would go to shopping.google.com

@schoenswetter I generally agree with you; however, #AI is not #VirtualReality is not #AugmentedReality. AI is trained on most of the digital world's book, and thoughts, and thinkers. We are at a similar place in time when #Gutenberg and the #PrintingPress sprang forth. Or when #GoogleSearch first began.
Apropos: I just read about a fake Austin restaurant that doesn't actually exist, that posts pics of its interior and food on IG, all of which are AI...
(And pretty obvious, btw, for anyone slightly critical/discerning. They have a croissant creation shaped like Moo Deng, intricately/delicately detailed with eyes and nostrils, etc).
This account has 72K followers, most of whom are apparently unaware that none of it is real.
We are so doomed.

I've been successfully using #DuckDuckGo as my default search engine since... Maybe over a year now?
I've noticed that I've relied on #GoogleSearch less and less in recent months, I can confidently say that 99% of my searches are done on DDG.
What applies to #GoogleSearch also applies to #Windows:
