Ms. Que Banh<a href="https://beige.party/tags/SNIWWOC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#SNIWWOC</a> <a href="https://beige.party/tags/FoodProject" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#FoodProject</a>: Your food, your choice.According to Statistics Canada (Dec 2020), approximately one in seven Canadians (14.6%) were living in a food-insecure household in May 2020. <a href="https://beige.party/tags/FoodInsecurity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#FoodInsecurity</a> is also a cause associated with poorer nutrition as well as a variety of physical and mental health issues.SNIWWOC is providing a <a href="https://beige.party/tags/FoodSecurity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#FoodSecurity</a> program for <a href="https://beige.party/tags/LowIncome" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#LowIncome</a> <a href="https://beige.party/tags/RacializedWomen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#RacializedWomen</a> including <a href="https://beige.party/tags/transgender" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#transgender</a> and <a href="https://beige.party/tags/TwoSpirit" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#TwoSpirit</a> community members. This program is intended to offset costs of monthly <a href="https://beige.party/tags/groceries" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#groceries</a>, not to cover all costs.Eligible clients will receive the decided amount of gift cards to one of the grocery stores. We are committed to supporting vulnerable women in our community, such as single mothers and newcomers who are sometimes isolated. ELIGIBILITY 1. Women Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour, including transgender, non-binary and two-spirit community members who are 18 years old or above;2. Must make less than the low-income cut-off line (submit the proof of income)* see the table on website.3. Resident of Greater Victoria BC, Canada.STEPS: 1. Fill out our Groceries Project Request form. 2. Receive an email from SNIWWOC. 3. Submit proof of income (or household income if you are married/common law). This can include: a current tax return, notice of assessment, or any benefits received from the government (ex. Disability Assistance). **Screenshots of bank statements or accounts will not be considered a valid form of proof of income**4. Submit proof of dependent(s). This can include: health cards, passports, birth certificate, driver's license, school registration, childcare statement, or status card.5. Set up an in-person appointment at SNIWWOC’s Victoria BC office.6. Fill out the feedback survey sent via email from SNIWWOC. <a href="https://www.sniwwoc.ca/getyourgroceries-application-form" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank">https://www.sniwwoc.ca/getyourgroceries-application-form</a>Note: You can apply once every three months, while supplies last. Clients are eligible for their first round of gift cards every three months after receiving them.
