The title refers to a phenomenon in neural networks where the training process for new tasks interferes with the model’s understanding of old tasks. Our insatiable desire for new technologies like AI accelerate climate change, leading to the destruction of our communities and loss of memory.
I completed this piece in February 2025, shortly after the LA fires. As we scrambled to provide aid to friends who lost everything, visions of roiling, gaseous dissolution haunted my dreams.

Playing with a pattern from this past week, while I was in Santa Fe. But I like the version I did when I had only my new travel pens, more than the one I did today. It's always good to stretch, but the stretches don't always produce a good result. That's fine. Without the stretches, there is no growth or innovation.
Here's an in-progress shot. The rest is now posted for my supporters on Patreon and Ko-fi: https://www.patreon.com/posts/133159646 https://ko-fi.com/Post/InkyDays-July-2025-P5P01HETYJ
Ever lose your best prompts in chats, screenshots, or old files? I did too. So I’m building PromptWaffle — a visual desktop tool to organize, remix, and reuse prompts the way I actually work. Built for Midjourney, SD, and AI creators who live in the mess.

As much as I enjoyed visiting Santa Fe, I'm so very happy to be home again. I drew today's #inkyDays drawing while waiting to board the plane home.
Using one of my new travel pens to draw today's #inkyDays pattern, while having lunch at El Patio in Albuquerque today. I think this 'sculpture' is a bike rack. Whatever it is, I love these. The one in front of El Patio, was yarn bombed.
I've started new posts for my supporters, where I'll be posting this month's daily drawings: https://www.patreon.com/posts/133159646

I liked today's #inkyDays drawing so much that I decided to try it on watercolor paper. Here's an in-progress shot.
Falling back on a comforting floral pattern for today's #inkyDays drawing. I'm loving how these inks are playing together. So I did a few flowers, in the same inks, on watercolor paper. I also finished some other pieces I've been working on for the past few days
And that's a wrap for this month of daily drawings. They're all posted now, for my supporters, on Patreon and Ko-fi:

Playing with this fascinating ink for today's #inkyDays drawing. This ink looks like a dark green when it's wet, but dries to a dark brown. I chose this pattern because I thought it might be interesting over the splotches from a spill-disaster that happened yesterday.
